Camp Hope takes pride in our well trained and professional staff. We provide more staff than the state regulations require to ensure a safe environment at all times. Special provisions for 1:1 staffing can be arranged. All of our staff are Child/Adult CPR and First Aid Certified through the American Red Cross. All staff have also received intervention skills trainings, human rights trainings, and water safety trainings. We have American Red Cross Certified life guards monitoring the waterfront at all times it is open. Any staff who may drive a vehicle receives defensive driving training as well as being required to take a road test in our vans.
At Camp Hope, we work to ensure that campers are able to interact and have fun with their peers. We have some full camp activities and water- front time, but there are also activities where we will split the campers up by age group. Some of the older campers will go on small day trips to play disc golf or go letterboxing, or other small excursions while some of the younger campers will get to go on occasional trips to splash parks or playgrounds. We ensure appropriate staffing both on the trip and at camp for any of these small trip times. We also have memberships to Old Sturbridge Village and the Ecotarium and occasionally we even go out for ice cream! For some of the older campers, we may even occasionally do volunteer work in the community as the opportunities present themselves. The campers will also enjoy treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, sporting activities, arts and crafts, swimming, kayaks, a talent show, game shows and a pair of family cookouts over the course of the summer!
